OK WE OUT HERE
As I’m mere minutes away from my dorm, I can’t help but wonder if I’m really ready for this. Can I support myself? Will I succeed in college? How will I deal with being away from my family, the most important thing to me? Unanswered questions, and I don’t even want to go, but here I am.
The good news is that in like 4 seconds, your thoughts will mostly revolve around your roommate’s dishes. They’re still in the sink. Why are they still in the sink. Get them out of the sink. Not that you’d say anything obv. That would be rude. Maybe a note.
Are you a new freshman? Are you awesome? Want to tell your Welcome Week story this week?
Send us a message and we’ll talk!
Anonymous asked: who are the best pot dealers on campus?
Haha, that would be like if a bunch of freshmen had a really sick smoke spot in their dorm, and a school paper did a story on it, blowing up their spot and ruining it for everybody.
Freshman videos should be more like this. Go Kiwi!
Anonymous asked: what about people with lots of experience in broadcast journalism and video production but haven't done a lot of written journalism?
Good news! We also have a kickass multimedia section. If you’re interested in showing your lovely face on camera, or editing footage of someone else’s lovely face, apply now!
Anonymous asked: what kind of writing sample are you looking for for job apps?
If you’ve done journalism, creative nonfiction, observational writing—basically, anything that gives us an idea of how you would write and what exists in your head, while also showing that you can write about stuff that exists outside your head. We are into voices and things like that.
